Magento Imagine 2016 brought lots of exciting news about the Magento product suite including new features, products and architectural approaches.
Magento Commerce Order Management (MCOM) SAAS solution was presented and widely discussed. Alan Kent, Magento Chief Architect, talked quite a lot about new integration approaches in both Magento Digital Commerce (aka Magento 2) and MCOM. This new approach is based on usage of AMQP message brokers to distribute information about events and serve as transport for commands and queries within the whole suite of systems and tools used by a customer.
Balance Internet was proud to be part of these changes!
Our team worked together with the Magento team to deliver a prototype of the integration between Akeneo PIM, Magento Digital Commerce, and Magento Commerce Order Management as a proof of concept for the emerging Magento integration solution.
Senior Account Manager at Balance Internet, Aaron Chidley, presented the prototype of the solution on stage at Magento Imagine during the Magento Bar Camp session, held on Wednesday, 13th of April 2016.
The presentation covered the emerging integration challenges that solution providers are facing and a view on the possible solutions, including a demonstration of the integration solution (see diagram below).
While just a prototype at this stage, it is already quite obvious that this way of implementation of integrations has significant benefits that allow us to address several challenges relevant to enterprises in the modern world.
Among them are:
- High scalability requirements
- System decoupling requirements
- Requirement to integrate higher number of systems in a close to real-time mode
- Reliability requirements
